Lately a lot of people seem to be teasing me/suggesting I go back to my natural hair color. Personally, I like being blonder because I think it works with my skin tone, I don't look so washed out. But, I keep hearing it (even the boyfriend says so, but he says that's just cause he's never seen my real hair color) so I'm considering it. Lord knows it would save me $$$ at the salon. :) So I know it's probably vain but I'm making a poll. Please vote on which hair color you think suits me better.

Blonde! ^

Brunette!^

View Poll: #1220588

Well, my job search continues. I have applied to about eleven places and been formally rejected by two, I'm on the "standby list" for one, and I'm still particularly positive and waiting to hear back from three. The others? Not so sure, I submitted resumes because they were friends with someone and just said "Sure shoot it over" but didn't necessarily have any openings. I'm still hopeful though! In fact, the one interview I thought I bombed and they would never call me back just told me they were still looking so at least the process isn't over yet!

I really need to get a better grip on this job search thing. There are so many people to keep in touch with, call, send notes to...its crazy. But I'm pretty much on top of it. Hopefully I will find a job where I will be very happy. I know the one I really want and my fingers, eyes, and toes are all cross but I dare not speak its name for fear I will jinx it!

Oh well, I may have been rejected a few times but I know that's all part of the process. I'm fresh out of college and a lot of these places want more experience then I have. I just need to learn to sell myself better! Just gotta stay positive. :) I'll probably be back here in a week saying "I QUIT! I'LL JUST LIVE IN MY PARENTS BASEMENT!" But hopefully not.

Friday I leave for Europe, a nice tour through the Mediterranean. I'm not fully excited yet, I don't think the reality that I'm going has sunk in and I'm also going to miss my phone calls with Ben a lot!, but I'm getting there! Should be fun once I'm off that horrid 9 hour flight. >.< I also need to buy a new book before I go. I'm just about the finish The Memoirs of Helen of Troy by Amanda Elyot, which was extremely good by the way, so I'll need something for my trip!

Well after a bad day yesterday, I've laid in bed almost all day today and now I think I'm going to get up and buy a Sims 2 EP to cheer myself up. :P

I'm hoping to get my boyfriend into Buffy, since he never saw the show when it was on the poor guy. Normally I'd just say he should borrow my season 1 dvd and go from there but, personally, I think the show starts out a little slow. So I was thinking I'd pick about a handful of episodes that really capture the essence of Buffy to see if he likes it, then if he does we can start watching it from the beginning.

So here's my question for my friends list! What episodes would you suggest? I was thinking of:
Hush
Fear, Itself
The episode where Buffy sends Angel to Hell (can't remember the title)? maybe.
Once More With Feeling (might wait for Dragon*con for him to see this one lol, but with everyone singing along that might not be good).

That's what I had off the top of my head. Help please! :D

They are not necessarily helpless people, but the notion of being saved makes them feel desirable and sexy. The Romantic needs to feel sought-after and practically worshipped before sex can be on the agenda. They imagine partners who not only make passionate love to them soon after saving them, but they imagine those partners will know how to please them without any instruction whatsoever. Their lover’s sexual finesse inspires their own, heightening their capacity for sexual pleasure. The Romantic is especially fond of people who can read their minds and deliver the sexual excitement that they secretly desire."

Well, another year's gone by and Dragon*con is over once again. :( 360 days to go. This was probably the second best D*C for my group, the only drag had to be the lines and the hotel staff at the Hyatt. Made things just a little tense at times but over all it was fabulous.

Right now I'm absolutely dead tired and missing Mario so much it hurts, it gets harder and harder to say goodbye lately, but tomorrow hopefully I'll have some pictures to post. Gotta run and ship some stuff tomorrow as well as buy the third season of The Office and pre-order Halo 3 (yeah I know I slacked off on that one :P Luckily Mario has an extra copy if I can't get one). After that I'm coming home to go through my photos before turning to some much postponed home work.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Labor Day weekend and to my fellow Con attendees I hope your trip to D*C was great as well!

Here's the situation: My dorm room is attached to another room by an adjoining door. It's RIGHT next to the head of my bed. EX:
_______[door]______
[head]

Head being the head of my bed, the ____ is the wall and the door is well...the door. So hopefully that's makes it clear. Now, for some odd reason (and I'm going to call maintenance about this) I can't lock the door so I'm a little worried though I doubt anything will happen about her or someone else just waltzing into my room. Also, because its next to my bed I'm worried she can hear me through it when I talk on the phone or something.

Here's my question: Anyone have any tips for kind of sound proofing the door and keeping people out till I can get it locked? Right now I have a piece of furniture in front of it but that won't do much for sound. So, I was thinking maybe taping the edges of the door and hanging a decorative type sheet over it?? Maybe?

Anyone out there had a similar situation or have any ideas? Greatly appreciate the help! Thanks.

Michael Vick

I know this is fairly old news, this Michael Vick dog fighting stuff but I'm sitting here watching the news and growing increasingly sick as I watch this story on Vick develop. The things he "supposedly" did? They're awful! Now, I've heard some argue "his cousin did it! can't help that!" Yeah, well even if he just knew about it that's just as bad! He knowingly let those dogs get hurt and didn't help. How is that any different from putting them in there yourself? I don't see much that distinguishes the two. But from what the reporters are saying the evidence is pretty much not in his favor, that they found a ton of stuff to incriminate Vick himself. I really hope he doesn't get some slap on the wrist because of his fame. What he did is a felony in GA and he should be charged with such. This plea he's going for? Sigh. This is why I'm seriously leaning toward animal rights/enviromental law as a career. I want to help put a stop to this.

On a slightly more shallow note, why on earth do the Falcons finally get a decent player, a name that people really recognized and he has to go and do this? We're not exactly a power house team and now, sadly, I think the team will be remembered as the team that dog fighter was part of instead of for the hard work the rest of the team puts in.

I just had to vent about this. Watching the news was causing a flood of emotions to build up inside me.

Melting! Oh, what a Lauren! What a Lauren!

Which movie was this quote from?
Get your own quotes:

So I saw Spiderman 3 last night.
good, highly recommend seeing it but I think #2 is my favorite. I would've liked to see a lot more action from this third installment but oh well. This movie focuses much more on the life of Peter Parker, the emotional side. What they gave us was very well done just perhaps not what some people went in there to see. Like I would prefered about double the Venom time and half the Sandman time, putting those two villains on the same level was just...why? That's really my main complaint. I never heard of Sandman before this movie but almost everyone knows Venom. They aren't the same level of bad guy. So there you go, it's a vague review but the best I can manage during exam time. :)
